Leave of absence...

Been terribly busy for weeks. Weekends packed with too many things that I do not have time for on the weekdays. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel now...

As with a zillion other readers, ended here trying to trace the author of "Travails of single southies..." U'll be happy to know that its gone international coz I'm writing in from Malaysia and I head global communications for my co and i've made sure every single Indian in my company in the 17 countries we have offices in has received a copy!

Look at the amount of money u lost pal! I am loosely associated with our publishing division and i know gold when i see it. Why havent u gone professional yet? Do u have an agent.....GO GET ONE...NOW!!!

After i landed on ure page, i havent done a minute of gainful employment related activity for the rest of the day since there is so much catching up to do on your blog. And dude...do u realise you r probably the only blogger anywhere in the world that receives an average of 50 comments on every single post and with people threatening to kill themselves if u dont post a new blog soon....do u want to translate that into number of readers x book sales x royalty@ 10 - 15% ???

U do the math & I'm sure the figure looks nicer than mine! :-)

Ure fellow IIMAite Chetan Bhagat did that kick ass book on the IIT and i met him in HK recently and he is considering giving up investment banking to turn full time writer. An inspiration there???

Is this part of some game u r playing – waiting it out to gauge ur popularity – to check how far this string will go with u contributing nothing more than 2 lines about some light n darkness and a pathetic apology? It sure must feel nice to evoke responses – from plain abusive to polite and gently encouraging, some even working out the math for u and offering to help with that book deal – all with u doing just plain nothing! Of course, I realise I am adding to ur pleasure by further pushing up the number of comments by one. So if u do manage to grab that plum book deal, what exactly do we ppl (the ones who make these strings possible), who will have more than a reasonable amount of stake in the whole random blogger to latest thanx-to-big big advance millionaire-from-the backwaters (it doesn’t matter that almost none of the so far from-the backwaters-sensations lived anywhere but there)-writing sensation story then, get?

Saw your post on nomenclature. With a first name/last name combo that goes into 26 letters, I couldn't agree more.

Sorry to notice the silence on your blog on the very barbaric end to one of your fellow IIM mates (this once, the location does not/should not matter). this place gets more than 20 comments on an apology post– so the place is popular. So why not use the power sir? The light that u said u see at the end of the tunnel . . . it seems to be fading pal. Use this space, use the other space – voice the outrage (or is it just my imagination that there is/ought to be outrage?) n may i apologise for spoiling the otherwise great mood that reading your blog sets off (u’ve read Vir Sanghvi – u know what I mean when I say reading u is like the happy feeling of having maggi – like he says, it is that special flavour/taste that it sets off in our brain – “umami” I think is what he calls it). . . but this is a bit of dirt –and is bound to muddy us all – the whiter-than-white collared, smarter-than-smart set .

Every person should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let everyone man gird oneself once more, with ones face to the front...

happy new year ppl:)

sidin, r u going to finally surprise us with a post?
