Bachao!

Dear Peoples

Drop in a line if any of you can help me with a good book agent. I think my book might be ready to be picked up for several millions of dollars. Or rupees.

Many thanks

Me

Gawd.
You really dont respond to your comments, do you? No matter how flattering they are.

Try Amit Varma at http://indiauncut.blogspot.com he might guide you in the right direction. He has done that for people in the past.

I did not know that the Times of India was publishing books. Try Arun Banerjee of the Times of India- arun.banerjee@timesgroup.com
They have an office in Delhi. He is the head of the books division. I came to know recently. Why kiss the maid when you can kiss the mistress- direct negotiation has its advantages especially with the Times group, you may get a lot of free publicity.

The harper collins people in Delhi who have tied up with the India today group are also worth a try.

Dear Sidin,

Try the following agent

http://www.davidgodwinassociates.co.uk

They were the agents for Arundhati Roy and managed to get a sizeable advance for her first book.

Also, take care that you get your script officially registered before you make submissions to agents.

Let me know if you need more.

Kenan Machado
